Sharing A Layout With Graffiti Stencil Art

Hello scrappy friends!  Today is Friday and I wanted to share a layout I created with some new stencils from Graffiti Stencil Art.  I was very honored to be asked to design with these stencils.  There are some really cool designs to play with for your layouts, cards, mixed media projects and art journals.

I used the Decorative Circle Background Stencil and created a layout of my hubby on his birthday.  To give the layout more texture and dimension, I applied some Liquitex Flexible Modeling Paste and sprayed some Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist in Tinsel into the modeling paste and gave it a good stir.  This gave it more color and then I went over the raised design with some Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Picket Fence and also around the outside edges.  The papers and stickers are from the Note To Self Collection and the Family Man Mini Collection by Echo Park.

Buttons - October Afternoon
Distress Stain - Tim Holtz (Picket Fence)
Flair Button - Evalicious
Pen - Marvy Uchida (Black)
Mists - Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Tinsel, Midnight Black)
Modeling Paste - Liquitex Flexible Modeling Paste
Patterned Paper - Echo Park Note To Self Collection
Stencil - Graffiti Stencil Art (Decorative Circle Background)
Stickers - Echo Park Family Man Mini Collection
Washi Tape - Recollections

Have a great Friday!

Scrapbook Challenges May Color Challenge

Hello scrappy friends!  Today over at Scrapbook Challenges I am challenging everyone to use the colors blue, grey, yellow and white on a layout.  I love these colors together.  This is a layout of my eldest son and my daughter in law.

My layout was created with Echo Park's Country Drive Collection papers and stickers as well as stamping the outside edge alternately with yellow, grey and blue acrylic paint.  I made the grey flower from some felt and added a sticker and pearl to the center.

Thanks for stopping by and you have three days to get your challenge uploaded to the Scrapbook Challenges gallery and don't forget to enter the draw for some awesome prizes from Two Peas In A Bucket.  Have fun.  You can find the link here.

Have a great day!

Sharing A Graphic 45 French Country Layout

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am sharing a layout on my beautiful family.  I love Graphic 45 and probably have every collection that has come out in the past but when it comes time to scrap with it, I tend to freeze up.  It is such beautiful paper and I hoard it because I want to save it for special occasions.  The French Country Collection would be great for my kitchen as I love sunflowers and roosters, but decided to use some of the papers to create a layout of my family because family always are a special occasion.

I created the sunflower with a design from Silhouette America on my Silhouette Cameo.  I love all the detail to this design.

The title is cut from  the Silhouette Cameo.

I also used some cute vintage camera wood veneer shapes to add some interest.  One can never have too many embellishments can they?

Finally I added some sheer black ribbon to give more dimension and texture.

Thanks for stopping by.  I always welcome comments.

Have a wonderful day!

Sharing A Layout Of A Cutie Patootie

Happy Sunday!

The sun is shining here and it's such a beautiful day to go for a drive with my husband in his Camaro

but before we head out, I thought I would post a layout that I created of a cutie patootie that I know.  Isn't she sweet?  She makes me smile.

This layout was created with Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists, of which I use all the time lately and some modeling paste, a Studio Calico stencil, some Prima leaves that I misted and a homemade flower made out of a fabric softener sheet, Stickles and some pearls.  I also used some stamps and my Silhouette Cameo to cut the title.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #345

Happy Monday!  It's a happy Monday here as I am sitting writing this from my computer at a scrapbooking retreat.  It has been wonderful to relax, scrapbook and eat the most amazing food.  Today Sketch #345 is revealed

I created a layout on my hubby's birthday last week.  I strayed from the sketch and did my own twist with the paper strips at the bottom.  I used the Fancy Pants Swagger Collection for the papers.

I hope you are inspired to create a layout from the sketch.

Have a wonderful day!

SWAT Drill #8

Hi everyone!

Just sharing a layout I created for being the May Girl at SWAT (Scrapbook Warriors Advanced Training).  This is for drill #8.  Here is the sketch:

and here if my layout that I created on my teenage son who loves ice cream but doesn't like getting his photo taken, as you can see in the small left photo.  I have a lot of photos of hands now. LOL.

I used the new Carta Bella Cool Summer Collection.  I just love all the colors to this collection.  For this layout I cut the ice cream cart, the tags, and the title "ice cream" with my Silhouette Cameo.  Did I mention that I love my Cameo.  It's the best things since sliced bread.

Thanks for stopping by and check out what the design team members of SWAT came up with for this sketch.

Thanks again SWAT for having me.  I really enjoyed it.

Have a great day!

Practical Scrappers - 10 Things Watercolours

Hello friends!

Today at Practical Scrappers we are sharing a few ideas on using watercolour techniques on your projects.

I chose to create a layout honouring my mom.

I created a watercolour effect with my Faber Castell Gelatos and an acrylic stamp for the flowers at the bottom of the layout.  The stamp is coloured with various colours of gelatos and then lightly misted with water and then stamped on the card stock.

The other watercolour technique is the diecut flowers that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo and then used  a variety of Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mists.  With this technique first I sprayed some mist onto a splat mat and then took a water brush and painted the flowers, leaves and stems.

Here are some other photos of my layout.  I misted the "you & me tag" and the "mother" diecut title.  I love Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists.  They are such pretty colours and I love the pretty shine they have.

I hope I have inspired you to try some stamping with Gelatos and painting with your mists to create watercolour effects on your projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day!

Art Journal Page For May

Every month this year I meet with a group of ladies and we create an art journal page from the pages of the book Happier At Home.  Lynn Thune teaches  the class and I love her unique shabby chic style.  Everyone in the class uses the same products, but they all look a little different.  Turquoise is one of my favorite colours so I went a little heavier on the misting.  Here is the page for May:

I love the brown and teal and all the little details.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!
